9/13/2021 0 Comments An Adventure in MinimalismBig things come in small packages. Big changes in my life. One is, I am about to moved into a tiny house! I will be exploring a pretty darn minimalistic lifestyle. It is both exciting and scary. Leaving much behind is freeing AND extremely unsettling! I have very few physical things to show for my life as it progressed over the last over 30 years (since becoming an adult). Not that I think material things are important but it is part of our history and our reality. And as I slowly acquired nicer and nicer items, clothes, house, bank account balances etc. it all seemed like the way it was suppose to show progress, growth and success. And it was fun to do, no doubt about it. But due to another big change, ending a 31 year marriage, this has me making such a dramatic change in my housing. Downsizing from a family of 4 in a 2,500s.f. home to living by myself in a tiny house of just about 350 s.f., starting this new business, as well as writing a book. Then there is dealing with aging parents needs and the joy of watching my adult children make their own lives - a very different place to be in for me in just a few years! Not surprising that things feel unsettled, but change is a constant in life! I look forward to this shift, even if I am terrified at times. I will let you know how it is going. Stay tuned!
